The German Chamber of Commerce Rhineland organized an “e-Marketing Day” last week at the venerable Borussia Mönchengladbach football stadium. It was the third event of this kind and aims to foster the understanding and importance of digital marketing for local small-and medium sized business. Located in the Borussia business lounge it featured guest speakers and local service providers specializing in social media and digital marketing. In a relaxed atmosphere visitors could attend several forums during the day and to get to know the companies presenting themselves (such as us).
Ibrahim Evsan gave an interesting speech about the future trends for the digital world. According to him we are just at the beginning of a massive new wave of digital technology that is being adopted by the masses because it is different. Reduction is the keyword, “less is more” in the sense that simplicity and ease of use will drive design and acceptance by the users. Mobile use will be facilitated by responsive design (such as this blog). Personal moments are going to be digitalized and shared (Instagram, Foursquare etc.) and define social recognition. It puts you in charge to create your own social currency. In three years the amount of data will be eighty times the amount it is now he predicts. And what’s more: It means the end of boredom. Boredom will be replaced with information overflow.
Next year the e-Marketing day will take place in Aachen, Germany. For more information contact the Chamber of Commerce.
