There are lots of Chambers of Commerce in New York and they hold lots of events. Most ot them are absolutely free or charge a minimal fee. Find the chamber in your area and / or the areas you want to do business in. Then go the the “Events” section and see what’s on offer. You can also join their mailing list to keep you updated. Go straight to the source and start with the biggest one. The Javits Center has a list of events for the entire year. Discover smaller venues in your area and see what they have on offer.
- LinkedIn-groups
You can join up to 50 LinkedIn groups and many organize events that you can attend for free. Pick the ones which are relevant to your industry. It makes sense to join groups in your area if you do not want any spend money on travel. LinkedIn groups are a great and professional way to connect with peers or potential customers.
